The following are standard charges you can expect to pay when importing Full Container Loads

1. Import Duty: as per USA Customs Tariff

2. MPF (merchandise processing fee)

21 cents per usd 100 fob value subject to a minimum of $25.

3. HMF (harbor maintanence fee)

12.5 cents per usd 100 fob value.

4. Customs Clearance Charges

$150 per entry

5. Bond charges

a. you can post a term bond for a cost of $600 per year.
b. or you can purchase a single entry bond for $4.50 per $1,000.

6. Limited Power of attorney is required for customs clearance.

If you are importing LCL cargo then you must also apply the following charges:

$2.45 per 100 lbs.

8. DAD Charge

$30 per shipment

9. Terminal Charges

$1.44 per 100 lbs. (applies in NY region; other regions may vary)
